Months after Liberia was declared free of the Ebola virus by the World Health Organisation, another case of Ebola has been reported in Liberia.

A five year old boy tested positive for the virus today in the second case of the virus and his 30 year old mother has also been confirmed to have died from Ebola. Authorities are looking into the possibility that the women came into Liberia from Guinea and are working to find people she had been in contact with.

Liberia was one of the worst affected areas during the Ebola outbreak across West Africa in 2015 with as many as 4,000 people dying as a result of the virus.
