Femi Adebayo Announces Plans for ‘Seven Doors’ Sequel

Nollywood actor and producer Femi Adebayo has announced plans to make a sequel to his directorial debut, ‘Seven Doors’, after the series recorded major success at the 2025 AMVCA and BON Awards.

Adebayo released the six-part miniseries in December 2024. The project earned several nominations and awards, including wins at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) and Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards.

The actor revealed his plans during an interview on VJ Adams Live. He spoke about his process of producing films and how he revisits his previous projects before starting new ones.

Adebayo said he is currently rewatching ‘Seven Doors’ as he prepares for its sequel. He explained that studying his earlier films helps him improve his work.

“I watch my movies after they’ve been released, especially when I want to produce another one. For instance, before I produced the sequel to ‘Jagun Jagun’, I watched the original, same as ‘Ageshinkole’. Now I’m planning to do a sequel to ‘Seven Doors’, so I keep watching the original to do better,” he said.

The filmmaker also said he pays attention to reactions from viewers. According to him, both praise and criticism help him make better creative decisions.

“I also go to read people’s comments, good or bad, on my movies because it helps me decide what to do better.”

‘Seven Doors’ enjoyed a strong run at the 2025 AMVCA. The series won the Best Lead Actress and Best Lead Actor categories.
