An explosion in the Turkish capital of Istanbul has left scores dead with fifteen people injured.

The explosion occurred this morning close to the Blue Mosque even as authorities claim that a suicide bomber detonated the explosive device.

Turkey has faced terror attacks since the last quarter of 2015 despite stepping up attacks against the PKK fighters.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for today’s attacks.
