The Abia State has given hoodlums who took advantage of the #EndSARS protest to attack and loot items belonging to the State Dental hospital a seven days ultimatum to return the items to avoid trouble.
The State Dental hospital was attacked during the protests and the attackers made away with items like vaccines, X-ray machines, sterilisers, air conditioners, fans and other equipment as well as disposables and consumables in the medical facility.
In a statement issued by the Information Commissioner John Okiyi-Kalu, he stated;
Members of the public are hereby warned not to buy or use any of the stolen items or procure such items from unauthorised persons to avoid getting into trouble with the law.
โWe wish to appeal to those who looted the items to return them within seven days to the relevant offices or call the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health Matters, Mr. Joe Chinwendu on 0803 764 9306 with information on the location of the items.
Kindly note that most of the Primary Health Care and Dental equipment are trackable and will certainly be recovered in due course if not voluntarily returned,โ
