Elon Musk Net Worth Crosses $900 Billion Again After Falling Below $700 Billion

Elon Musk’s net worth has crossed $900 billion recovering sharply after his fortune plunged below $700 billion during SpaceX’s decline. Forbes valued Musk’s fortune at about $911.9 billion Monday recently, after SpaceX shares jumped more than six percent toward $150.

The rebound follows a dramatic summer slide that erased hundreds of billions from Musk’s wealth after SpaceX shares suffered losses. Musk became the world’s first trillionaire after SpaceX’s June IPO, but he soon lost that status as SpaceX shares declined.

On July 24, Musk acknowledged the change himself on X, describing his financial position with the words “former trillionaire” publicly. His fortune later fell below $700 billion in July, reaching roughly $695.7 billion as SpaceX shares continued their steep decline.

Now, renewed confidence in SpaceX has pushed its shares higher, helping Musk recover much of the wealth lost during downturns. Recent regulatory disclosures revealed major institutional investments, including Harvard’s $2.2 billion holding and BlackRock’s $8.7 billion SpaceX equity stake, respectively.

Nvidia disclosed nearly $21 billion, while Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund reported roughly $73 billion invested in SpaceX, according to Forbes. The fresh institutional interest has strengthened confidence around SpaceX’s prospects, including Starship development, Starlink expansion, and artificial intelligence infrastructure potential.

Musk’s latest recovery shows how quickly his fortune can change because much of his wealth depends heavily upon SpaceX valuations. Although Musk regained the $900 billion level, his fortune remains well below the trillion-dollar peak reached after SpaceX’s landmark IPO.
