Eid-El-Fitr is the annual festival of breaking the Muslim fast and it is celebrated across nations by Muslims. It occurs after fasting for a whole month – the fast known as Ramadan and it ends at the sight of a new moon.
Muslims celebrate Eid-El-Fitr as a way of thanking God for a successful Ramadan and they also pray at the mosque at least 5 times, asking God for forgiveness. Also, the Muslims use the opportunity to give charity to the poor and needy in the society.
The Muslims believe that Eid-El-Fitr signifies a moment where one exercises self-control and discipline especially after the long fast of Ramadan; and the celebration itself signifies a day of feasting which encourages communal happiness.
