An anti-corruption agency has disclosed what has to count as the most bizzare story in the investigation of a massive arms scandal in the last administration.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is investigating former Army Chiefs complicit in the arms scandal allegedly spearheaded by the former National Security Adviser.
The focus recently shifted to a former Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Adesola Amosu (rtd). The agency is believed to be investigating N3 billion traced to the bank accounts of Lara Amosu, the former Chief Of Air Staff’s wife.
Her arrest last week was believed to be because she was serving as a front for her husband’s involvement in the arms scam.
A search of their residence led to the discovery of $1million in a newly built soakaway. The money was said to have been confiscated by the anti corruption agency.
