Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has once again made a statement on the Big Brother Naija stage. This time, he blended Japanese-inspired fashion with Nigerian regal style for Sunday’s eviction show.

The television host stepped out in a white outfit designed by Nigerian designer Ugo Monye. The look combined a Japanese-inspired silhouette with traditional Nigerian accessories.
Ebuka’s Japanese-inspired outfit
The outfit featured a white tunic and robe with broad kimono-style sleeves. Its clean lines and flowing shape gave it a modern Japanese feel.
It was also different from the traditional Agbada styles Ebuka often wears on the show. A vertical accordion-pleated panel ran along one side of the outfit. The detail added texture and movement to the simple white look.
Let us tell you one thing you should never do when it comes to Ebuka Obi-Uchendu’s style: “Never underestimate him. Never assume you have seen enough of his style. Never assume that because he made us gasp last week on the Sunday eviction night show, you might not be quite as surprised this week.”
The all-white colour also allowed the accessories to stand out.
Nigerian regal details
Ebuka added several Nigerian-inspired elements to the Japanese-style outfit. He wore layers of chunky coral and gold beads around his neck.
He also paired the beads with matching off-white woven bead cuffs on both wrists.
The host carried an ornate horsetail whisk. It featured a crystal-encrusted handle and blonde horsehair. The accessory added another strong Nigerian cultural touch to the look.
His headwear stayed closer to the Japanese influence. Ebuka wore a structured white hat with a rounded crown and broad, curved brim.
Dark sunglasses and a simple gold ring completed the accessories.
Comfort meets style
Ebuka also appeared to bring comfort into the elaborate look.
He completed the outfit with fur-lined mule slippers. The relaxed footwear added an unexpected casual touch to the otherwise regal styling.
The result was a mix of Japanese-inspired tailoring and Nigerian cultural fashion.
The white outfit kept the look simple. Meanwhile, the coral beads, woven cuffs and horsetail whisk gave it a strong Nigerian identity.
Designed by Ugo Monye, the ensemble once again showed why Ebuka’s BBNaija fashion moments remain a major part of the Sunday night show.
