Nigerian disc jockey Baddest DJ Timmy has accused singer Timi Dakolo of breaching a contract linked to a proposed United Kingdom tour.

The DJ claimed Dakolo approved advance payments for the tour before allegedly cutting off communication. He also accused the singer of failing to honour commitments tied to the event.

Dakolo denies debt allegation

The dispute began after DJ Timmy claimed Dakolo owed him money connected to the planned tour. The DJ had earlier said it had been a month since the singer promised to repay the alleged debt after asking for more time.

However, Dakolo rejected the claim through his legal counsel. He described the allegation as “false and defamatory.”

According to the singer, the disputed £4,106 was linked to a proposed UK tour organised by DJ Timmy and Revolve Entertainment, which never took place.

Dakolo’s legal team said a written agreement made the promoter responsible for production, travel and logistics costs. They added that the singer was not required to pay a deposit or reimburse those expenses.

The singer also claimed the tour was cancelled because Revolve Entertainment failed to meet the required production standards.

DJ Timmy responds

In a video shared on Monday, DJ Timmy insisted Dakolo approved payments before withdrawing from the arrangement.

“Timi Dakolo, from everything that has happened so far, you have proven that you lack integrity. You don’t have respect for your family, and you don’t love your wife and your children,” he said.

The DJ also claimed several attempts to reach the singer were unsuccessful.

“We sent you countless letters, text messages, but your strategy is ignore, ignore; the problem will go. I want to tell you that it is not going to go,” he added.

He further alleged that Dakolo stopped communicating after authorising expenses.

“You cannot sign a contract, give us the go-ahead to pay for things and all of a sudden, you just go silent. It does not work like that. We are not in Nigeria; this is Europe, you cannot do that.”

Call for evidence

DJ Timmy also questioned Dakolo’s claim that he raised concerns about the event’s production.

“Timi Dakolo, show me proof where you complained about the production because, according to your letter, you said you complained about the production.”
