For many people, Saturdays are holy. After working countless hours at offices that opens at an ungodly hour in the morning, youโve finally gained the much deserved rest you have been secretly dreaming of.
That means free Saturday mornings (woohoo!). But what ever are you going to do? Here are five awesome ways to spend your Saturday.
You deserve the perfect Saturday, this is all you need to do.
1. Watch cartoons
Maybe you havenโt tried this since you were 10, but cartoons are much like naps. There is a time when you think youโve outgrown them and then you grow up a little more and realize you were totally wrong. Remember the excitement of waking up and realizing that you had an allotted three hours to sit in front of the TV and absorb that technicolor goodness? Let nostalgia hit you in 10-foot swells.
2. Go to the farmerโs market
Check out your community farmerโs market and support local produce from your area. Farmerโs markets offer much more than the unripe tomatoes you find at the grocery store. Some have coffee carts, crepe booths, meat, fish, honey, flowers, fruits, veggies, and spices. You could get everything you need to have your friends over for a fresh, homemade dinner, or better yet, treat yourself to a picnic.
3. Sleep in
Guess what? Today you can lounge in bed and hit the snooze button five times without waking up in a panic. In fact, you can even forget the alarm all together. Sleep in. Let the sun wake you up, or maybe your cat whoโs ready for a full-on snuggle session after spending the weekdays waiting for you to come home and scratch that spot behind his ear that turns on his little motorboat purr. Itโs your prerogative, so enjoy it.
4. Read
How often do you take the time to read? To sit, without your iPhone running Facebook and actually absorbing something, be it the book thatโs been sitting at the top of your to-read list collecting a quarter-inch of dust or conquer that growing stack of magazines on your entry way table. Maybe, just maybe, a copy of The New York Times will do you some good and get you caught up with whatโs been going on in the rest of the world while youโve been stranded behind the gray three-by-five walls of your cubicle.
