A magnitude 6.4 earthquake has hit the city of Tainan in Taiwan.

The earthquake hit Tainan on Friday night as several buildings were destroyed and seven people have been confirmed dead.

Among the casualties was a baby after a high rise building collapsed. Rescue efforts are ongoing in Taiwan as over 300 people are also reportedly injured.
