The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi has given his blessings to Temidayo Israel for Chairmanship position of Lagos Mainland local government council area. Dayo, who is in his early 30s is a Chairmanship Aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress for Lagos Mainland council area.
Dayo was born into the Abdulai Family in Olowogbowo (Agbole Baba Elera/Baba Dudu) and the Banire Family in Ibita Ofin Lagos Island. His Grand Father, Alhaji BS Abdulai owns the Famous Oju Ogunle in Mushin, and was one of the First Black Managers in First Bank of Nigeria; while His Grand Aunty Alhaja Sinatu Banire was the Iya Aro of Lagos.
Ooni’s blessings is coming at the time the prominent and powerful Lagos Mainland Chief – the The Opeluwa of Lagos, Chief Aderibigbe Ajose endorsed Dayo Israel for the position in his Palace, where he showered him encomium for his vision for mainland and his impact full projects.
In the same week, Honorable Dapo Lam Adesina from Oyo State also endorsed Dayo Israel for the Chairmanship position in Lagos Mainland saying โThey are lucky to have you. I have no doubt you have the capacity to transform their lives and change the narrative about Local Governanceโ.
As a Lagosian, a true son of the soil, I have always been passionate about contributing my quota to the good work started by my Father Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and currently progressed by my Governor โ Mr Akinwunmi Ambode in making Lagos the Pride of Africa. The level of progress Governor Ambode is making requires some level of skilful servant leadership in the grassroots at the local government and I am volunteering to complement the effort of my governor in Lagos Mainland. My goal is to make Mainlander feel his impact and Economic Prosperity, Dayo said.
Dayo is a recipient of so many International Awards which includes the British Red Cross Humanitarian Citizen Award, PEWA (Person Earnestly Working for Africa) Award, GAB Award, Icon Awards, Icon of Hope Award, Young Achievers Award and many more. He is also a 3 time Finalist for various categories of The Future Nigeria Award โ including the Young Person of the Year Award.
He also pioneered a lot of advocacy towards the enactment of the Child Rights Act in Nigeria and the development of the Juvenile Justice Framework in the Country. At 16, He was appointed the Chairman of the Presidential Summit of Nigerian Children alongside leading the Nigerian Children delegation to the United Nations Special Session on Children in New York where He was featured live on CNN and Nickelodeon with Carol Bellamy, the then UNICEF Executive Director. In 2004, at the age of 18, Dayo and His Team of other Young People single handed hosted the Annual Young General Assembly Annual Session in Nigeria with about 200 Young People in attendance from all over the World.
Dayo has been involved in High Level International advocacy that have earned him enormous International accolades. He co-chaired the only children side event at the UN World Summit on Sustainable Development in South Africa, alongside chairing the World Media Briefing at the UN Children World Water Forum in Japan. In the recent years, He has continued to chair various side events at the UN DPI/NGO Conference. A founding member of the British Council Connecting Future Forum.
He recently trained over 6000 Mainlanders in various Vocational skills and launching a Lagos Mainland Business School in October
