Davido reveals desire to create therapy centre for former stars

Grammy-nominated singer Davido has revealed plans to build a therapy centre for former celebrities. He said the idea comes from the pressure that fame brings and the criticism public figures often face.

The Nigerian singer spoke about the issue during a recent interview. He said many people struggle after reaching the peak of their careers.

Davido explains the therapy centre idea.

Davido said he would like to create a place where former celebrities can receive mental health support.

“If there is one thing I could do, I would build a centre for people who have been popular and very successful before,” he said.

He explained why he believes such a centre is necessary.

“A centre for them to have like therapy…because it’s crazy being on top of the world and the next moment you’re not.

“Even in football, you win all these awards, Champions League, World Cup and people still don’t feel like it’s enough.”

Ronaldo’s criticism raises concern.

The singer said one of his biggest fears is facing harsh criticism after years of success.

To explain his point, he referred to football star Cristiano Ronaldo. According to Davido, the reaction Ronaldo received after leaving the World Cup was difficult to watch.

“Like, look at Ronaldo, when he left the World Cup, he’s my friend by the way, when he left the World Cup, I remember being on the internet, and they were abusing him so much,” he said.

Fear of losing public approval

Davido said it is hard for public figures to satisfy everyone, even after major achievements.

“After everything he has done. That’s my greatest fear. I worked too hard. I always ask God to just tell me the right time to…”

The singer added that he often prays for wisdom about when to step away from music. He said knowing the right time to leave is important for anyone who has enjoyed success in the public eye.
