A former member of the Kogi lawmaker, Gabriel Daudu has been sentenced to 154 years in prison following his conviction on Monday.
He was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2010 and a 208 count charge was brought against him. Most of the charges were related to money laundering, fraud and misappropriation of public funds.
Gabriel Daudu served as a member of the Kogi state house of Assembly as well the caretaker Chairman of theย Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi state. Justice Inyang Ekwo presiding at the Federal high court in Lokoja found Gabriel Daudu guilty of 77 of the original 208 charges.
The judge also sentenced him to two years for each count charge and the charges will run concurrently.
