Governor Nasir El-Rufai has confirmed that a total number of 65 children out of the 169 Almajiris brought in to Kaduna State has tested positive to the virus.
The Governor has also assured the public that the infected children will be treated immediately and adequately before they are returned to their parents and assured of a qualitative education. The Governor said that he is still bent on the move reached by Northern Governors to stop the almajiri system in the Northern region.
The Governor said “we are happy to receive them, they are being treated and infact two of them have already tested negative and they will be taken to their parents soon so that they go to school when schools re-open.
“It is a big problem but we are happy to receive them because it is our duty to ensure that they go to school”.
