Congolese President Wins Reelection To Extend His 32 Year Rule

Congolese President, Denis Sassou Nguesso has won a reelection in Presidential elections in Congo after securing more than 60% of the votes in just the first round of voting.

Sassuo Nguesso has ruled Congo for 32 years out of Congo’s 37 year independent existence and the 72 year old will now extend his rule even further.

Opposition parties have rejected the election results and an opposition coalition spokesperson said the elections were “partial, extravagant and totally detached from the reality on the ground.”
