The home-based Super Eagles began their 2016 African Nations Championship, with a 4-1 victory over Niger Republic.

Elvis Chisom Chikatara was the star of the show, netting a hat-trick as Sunday Oliseh’s men completely dominated the Mena.

The Abia Warriors player opened scoring in the 46th minute, before Moses Okoro made it 2-0 in the 74th minute. Adje Zakari Adebayor pulled one back for his side, but Chikatara scored two times to settle the game.
