Actor Chadwick Boseman will be honoured today at his hometown, Anderson, South Carolina with series of tributes.
Announcing the event, the city spokeswoman Beth Batson said that Chadwick Boseman gave the residents of Anderson, South Carolina a deep sense of pride due to his iconic roles in several movies, particularly in Black Panther.
The tribute is set to begin at 7.30pm (EDT) and will also show ‘Black Panther’ at an outdoor amphitheater where social distancing will be practiced, Beth Batson also disclosed.
“In Anderson, a city of about 28,000 people, there’s deep sadness and grief, but it has a bounce out of it that is such inspiration. That’s because Boseman inspired so many people in the community. It has been amazing to watch the grief, so to speak, blossom. Now young people say ‘what can I do, what can I be,” she said.
Chadwick Boseman died last Friday, 28th August, 2020 after battling with colon cancer for a long time. He was only 43. May his soul rest in peace.
