Then it was Sunday!
Sunday couldn’t have been better after the weather changed and it rained…
I headed to church late as usual. I got a back seat in church like most other Sundays, even though I had made a commitment to myself to leave the house as early as 8am. This work does not allow me sleep early enough, you know? Whilst I left other devices at home because I didn’t want to be distracted, I took my Samsung Galaxy S6 edge plus to church – all because of Snapchat. Please don’t judge me.
After the church service, it was time to head home and prepare for my Sunday events. I had two outings – Brunch at Intercontinental hotel and Adebola Williams’ birthday soiree. Immediately I got home, I made sure all my devices were charged up as you know the fuel scarcity and “No Power” issue in our country is doing us ‘strong thing’.
I was ready for brunch at half past two and I got there an hour late, because looking good. It was needed I met with my client at the EKAABO Restaurant in the hotel and I also invited my friend, Jane Michael Ekanem, who is a celebrity fashion stylist in Nigeria along. It was a 3-course meal, buffet and we dished our food. I opted for something delicious that would also satisfy me (I am also doing ‘fit fam but no gym’). After lunch, I met with my client and we had a short discussion about what they intend to do later this year. I took selfies with Jane and the food, using the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. You know we have to explore with the phone. Award-winning lifestyle blogger, Sisi Yemmie and her family also came for brunch. It was great to see them on a Sunday afternoon. We took selfies with the phone and she loved it too. The photos came out beautifully!

After my brunch meeting, I left for Adebola Williams’ party in Ikoyi. So, I was among the first set of people who came in early; now we’re ‘keeping to time’!

The event started an hour later with a worship session led by PITA – Adebola, the celebrant, loves to worship God. I had a lovely time worshipping too. During the course of the event, I started recording videos and photographing the event. Lifestyle and fashion blogger, Noble Igwe saw the Galaxy S7 edge with me and checked it out, comparing with his iPhone 6S. I didn’t feel intimidated. We all know some iPhone users are not pleased with their phones… You better switch now and get a Samsung phone!
Notable men and women in Nigeria graced Adebola’s birthday soiree and I got busy with my phone as usual. Then it started getting windy and we were praying in our mind that it should not pour, but it eventually did. We ran inside for shelter and the ‘turn up’ started with DJ Spinall on the wheels of steel. Selfie mode and flash option on, I approached the “bosses” and asked for “permission to take a selfie”.
They said yes! I clicked and clicked and clicked… and this funny conversation started:
My boss: E wo tu le leyi
Me: ah!! It’s the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge
My boss: o ni flash pelu selfie
Me: Yes
My boss: Se o ni double SIM ni
Me: No, ko ni double SIM
That gist ended with smiles and he got a feel of the phone. I repeated same drill with other celebrities at the party and their reaction was: WOW!!!
