Burna Boy to headline NFL halftime show in Paris

Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, will headline the halftime show at the 2026 NFL Paris Game because of his previous history at the Stade de France and his connection to African music.

The NFL announced the development in a statement on Thursday, confirming that the ‘Last Last’ hitmaker will perform during the game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints on October 25.

The fixture will take place at the Stade de France in Paris and will mark the NFL’s first game in France.

Burna Boy previously performed at the venue, making his return for the NFL event significant. Reacting to the announcement, the singer said the opportunity was meaningful because of his experience at the stadium.

“Paris gave me one of the biggest nights of my career, and to walk back into Stade de France for a moment like this means everything,” he said.

“The NFL is bringing something to France that has never happened here before, and I get to stand in the middle of it representing African music, and I intend to give the people a show they will not forget.”

Tim Tubito, NFL senior director of global game presentation, music and entertainment, also pointed to Burna Boy’s previous performance at the Stade de France and his representation of African music as reasons for his selection.

“The first NFL game in France deserves a halftime moment that matches the occasion, and there is no artist better suited to it than Burna Boy,” he said.

Tubito added that the singer’s connection to the venue and African music would make his return significant for the historic fixture.

The 2026 NFL International Games will feature fixtures across seven countries and four continents, with halftime performances forming part of the league’s entertainment programme.
