Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has announced plans to headline the 80,000-capacity London Stadium in 2027, marking a record third time he has performed at the venue.
The Afro-fusion star revealed the news after teasing the event in a cryptic Instagram post on Monday. The post featured a 60-carat natural VVS diamond necklace created to commemorate his two previous sold-out stadium concerts.
He later confirmed the announcement on X, writing: “So excited for 2027! London Stadium III and many more announcements for y’all.”
Burna Boy, born Damini Ogulu, remains the only African artiste to headline and sell out the London Stadium, which has served as the home ground of Premier League club West Ham United since 2016.
The singer first made history at the venue in June 2023 during his Love, Damini tour. He repeated the achievement in June 2024 as part of his I Told Them tour, drawing another massive crowd to the iconic arena. A return in 2027 would further strengthen his record as the only African act to headline the stadium multiple times.
While the stadium accommodates about 60,000 spectators during football matches, its capacity expands to 80,000 for major concerts.
The announcement follows Burna Boy’s recent appearance at the inaugural FIFA World Cup final halftime show, adding to a growing list of global milestones in his career.
Since breaking out with Like to Party in 2012, the singer has become one of Africa’s most successful music exports. His catalogue includes L.I.F.E (2013), On a Spaceship (2015), Outside (2018), African Giant (2019), Twice As Tall (2020), Love, Damini (2022), I Told Them (2023), and No Sign of Weakness (2025).
