President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered security operatives to shoot anyone seen with AK-47 rifles.

This was made known by the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.

He disclosed this in a recent interview with the BBC Hausa as he spoke about the efforts being made to get rid of bandits in Zamfara and other northern states.

In his submission, he said;

“The president has ordered security forces to go into the bushes and shoot whoever they see with sophisticated weapons like AK-47. He ordered that whoever is seen with terrible weapons at all should be shot immediately.”
