Breaking: EFCC Withdraws Arrest Warrant Against Mercy Chinwo’s Embattled Manager

Days after reports about Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her former manager, Ezekiel Thankgod Onyedikachukwu aka Eezee T, dragging each other to court over allegations of funds embezzlement and diversion, the EFCC shares an important update.

A recent update shared by Eezee T’s lawyers has stirred attention online. According to the exclusive information reaching us at OSGmedia, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has officially withdrawn the arrest warrant issued against Eezee T.

Recall that some days ago, OSG reported that the EFCC had published an arrest warrant for Eezee T on grounds of defaulting multiple summonses and invites to their offices.

OSG also reported that another gospel singer who used to be signed to Eezee T’s record label, Judikay had also dragged her former boss to court for diversion of funds and royalties belonging to her.

Why EFCC withdrew the arrest warrant

In an exclusive report, it was confirmed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has withdrawn the arrest warrant issued against Mercy Chinwo’s former manager and record label owner.

It was shared that this resolution was reached after an appeal by the manager’s legal representative, who pleaded with the court, stating that their client was unaware of the previous summons and assured his voluntary appearance in court.

The EFCC agreed to withdraw the warrant on the condition that the manager will honour future court appearances. After this conclusion was reached, the was then adjourned to February 14, 2025, for arraignment.

Below was a video posted online by Eezee T to dispel claims about him having issues with Judikay:

Eezee T clears the air about Judikay’s allegations against him

Below is a statement released by Eezee T as tries to clear the air amid the allegations levelled against him by his former signee and gospel singer, Judikay. Read the full statement below:

“This was in March 2024
We did this annually from 2019 when she was signed. ThanK God for the wisdom to put this particular one on camera. Imagine explaining to the world that this happened without evidence.”

“Who would believe us?

We provided all the necessary documents, including bank statements, for the audit from our end because we know our hands are clean. However, to date, no one has reached out to inform us of any discrepancies found, and the report was never shared with us. Instead, it became apparent that a conspiracy and alliances had been formed against us.”

Eezee confirmed wanting auditors to check his books for any financial misappropriation:

“After eventually sharing our grievances, we requested independent auditors that both parties could trust, but they refused. When they failed to respond, we opted for the provision in the contract for dispute resolution through the Multidoor Court. To date, she has refused to appear. Out of nowhere, how did this escalate to the EFCC?”
