A powerful explosion rocked the Turkish capital of Ankara on Wednesday evening. The car bomb was believed to have targeted a military vehicle carrying military personnel.
28 people have died from the explosion while many more people are reported injured in an attack which no group has claimed responsibility for as of the time of writing this report. A video of the scene of the explosion was shared on social media.
Turkey has increasingly become a target for terror attacks in the past four months, with over four terror attacks since November.
Turkish President, Recep Tayipp Erdogan said in a statement: “We will continue our fight against the pawns that carry out such attacks, which know no moral or humanitarian bounds, and the forces behind them with more determination every day,”
He also called for an emergency meeting with Turkey’s top security officials.
