The Ikeja Special Offences Court on Thursday granted social media influencer Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, N20 million bail over an alleged N69.15 million property fraud.
Justice Rahman Oshodi granted the bail with two responsible sureties in like sum after hearing her bail application.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) did not oppose the application. However, Justice Oshodi said the court had to consider the seriousness of the charges and the punishment prescribed by law.
The judge also considered the defence’s explanation about the whereabouts of Blessing CEO’s international passport.
As part of the bail conditions, Justice Oshodi ordered each surety to provide a three-year bank statement. The surety may also provide evidence of fixed deposits worth at least N20 million.
The judge also ordered the Lagos State Judiciary to profile Blessing CEO and her sureties through its Bail Information Management System.
He further directed the Nigerian Immigration Service to restrict Blessing CEO from travelling outside the country until the case is decided.
The court then adjourned the case until October 12 for the continuation of the trial.
Why Blessing CEO is facing trial
The EFCC arraigned Blessing CEO on June 9 on two counts of stealing and obtaining money by false pretences.
She pleaded not guilty to both charges.
According to the EFCC, Blessing CEO allegedly obtained N69.15 million from Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Ltd. in March 2025.
The agency said she claimed she would secure a lease for the company on a property in Lekki, Lagos.
The EFCC said the alleged offence contravenes Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.
It also said the alleged offence violates Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act, 2006.
Blessing CEO will return to court on October 12 as the trial continues.
