Beyoncé Donates $1 Million to Colombia Earthquake Relief Efforts

Beyoncé Colombia earthquake donation brings $1 million toward urgent relief for families affected by the devastating August disaster in Chocó. Parkwood Entertainment confirmed Beyoncé’s personal contribution on August 25, directing funds toward organizations providing emergency assistance across affected Colombian communities.

The money will support food and housing supplies, with Food For The Poor and World Central Kitchen helping deliver assistance. World Central Kitchen says its teams and local partners continue serving meals across Chocó, Cali, Pereira, and Manizales following destruction.

The earthquake struck near San José del Palmar in Chocó on August 10, registering magnitude 7.4 according to States Geological Survey. Officials reported hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries as rescue teams searched damaged communities and assessed infrastructure destruction nationwide.

Recent Colombian reports place the death toll at 331, with more than 4,400 injuries and hundreds of people still missing. Thousands of homes suffered damage, while the disaster disrupted roads, communications, healthcare facilities, electricity, and essential supplies across affected regions. More than 400,000 people reportedly experienced the earthquake’s consequences, increasing pressure on authorities and humanitarian organizations coordinating emergency response efforts.

Beyoncé’s contribution arrives as communities continue searching for missing residents while displaced families urgently seek shelter, food, water, and medical support. The singer has previously supported disaster relief, including major assistance for victims of wildfires, hurricanes, and other emergencies worldwide.

Her latest donation also highlights Beyoncé’s wider philanthropic efforts, which have supported vulnerable communities through her charitable initiatives and partnerships. Colombia has received additional international assistance as governments, charities, celebrities, and humanitarian organizations respond to the earthquake’s devastating humanitarian consequences.

Meanwhile, Colombian singer Shakira has supported recovery efforts, directing attention toward rebuilding schools and educational infrastructure affected by the earthquake. Beyoncé Colombia earthquake donation therefore adds private support while relief groups continue helping families rebuild their lives after this disaster.
