Barry has won the week eight head of house (HoH) challenge in the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) ‘Show Ya Sef’ house, securing a finalist spot as 11 housemates face possible eviction.
Barry emerged as HoH on Monday evening and became the “ultimate veto power holder” for the season.
The victory gives Barry immunity for the next two weeks. It also makes him the first confirmed finalist of the season.
After the HoH games, Big Brother asked the housemates to gather in the lounge for the nomination process.
Unlike previous weeks, Big Brother gave the remaining housemates two minutes each to pitch themselves to Barry. They had to explain why they deserved immunity for the week.
Bells, the “bench warmer of the hour”, did not take part in the exercise.
Big Brother then asked Barry to save only one housemate from possible eviction. He chose Aikou.
The decision left the remaining 11 housemates at risk of eviction this week.
The season’s winner will receive a record-breaking N160 million grand prize. It is the biggest payout in BBNaija history since the reality show debuted in 2006.
BBNaija introduced 24 housemates on July 26. Eleven have since left the show, leaving 13 contestants in the house
