Flora and Aikou can now compete for the grand prize in the 2026 Big Brother Naija season after fans voted to end their roles as the show’s “gambits”.
Earlier in the season, fans voted for one male and one female housemate to take on the special roles.
The gambits were expected to stay in the house until the end of the season. They could take part in tasks and games and win prizes. However, they could not compete for the grand prize.
Flora and Aikou initially won the fans’ votes to become the season’s gambits.
They also received special tasks from fans and Big Brother. Like the other housemates, they had to follow all the house rules.
However, after the latest eviction show, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announced a new poll.
The host told fans they could vote to reinstate Flora and Aikou as regular housemates. They could choose Flora, Aikou or both.
Fans chose to reinstate both housemates.
The result ends their gambit roles and changes their position in the competition. Flora and Aikou can now compete for the grand prize with the other housemates.
They are also no longer safe from eviction. This means they can now face the same eviction process as the other contestants.
The change gives both housemates a fresh chance to fight for the top prize. They were previously unable to compete for the biggest reward of the season.
The 2026 BBNaija season premiered on July 26 with 24 housemates.
