The former Vice-President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar seems to still be interested in the presidency elections coming up in 2023. His son, Adamu Atiku-Abubakar revealed this when he was presenting his scorecard as the Adamawa Commissioner for Works and Energy.
He said, “Personally, I donโt see anything wrong with my father contesting for the presidency. In 2023, my father will be aspiring to the number one office in the land because he has been an astute, strategic,ย master politician for almost four decadesโ.
Atiku Abubakar has contested for presidency under various parties three different times. The first time was when he contested in 1993 under the Social Democratic Party, after which he contested under Action Congress of Nigeria in 2007. In 2015, he gained the People’s Democratic Party’s ticket and lost again to President Muhammadu Buhari.
