Arsenal have ended their 22-year wait for a Premier League title after Manchester City’s 1-1 draw at Bournemouth confirmed Mikel Arteta’s side as champions.
The triumph marks Arsenal’s first league crown since the famous 2003/04 “Invincibles” campaign under former manager Arsène Wenger and ends a frustrating run of three consecutive second-place finishes.
The Gunners spent much of the season at the top of the table, although their title challenge appeared to wobble in April following a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side looked poised to overtake Arsenal, but Arteta’s men responded strongly and held firm in the closing weeks to secure the title.
Midfielder Declan Rice celebrated the achievement by posting a picture with his team-mates on Instagram alongside the caption: “I told you all.. It’s done.”

Captain Martin Ødegaard was also pictured on Eberechi Eze’s Instagram account holding the Arsenal bottle that had previously gone viral after a Manchester City fan mocked the club for supposedly “bottling” the title race.
Former Arsenal manager Wenger also joined the celebrations in a message shared on the club’s X account. He said, “You did it. Champions go on when others stop. This is your time. Now, go on and enjoy every moment.”
Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith praised Arteta’s side after finally getting over the line.
“Brilliant! It’s fully deserved,” Smith said.
“Arsenal have had the best defence – they haven’t had the best attack – but as an overall unit, Mikel Arteta has done incredibly well.”
Arsenal will lift the Premier League trophy after their final game of the season against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday.
