APPLYING EBOLA LESSONS TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

We can derive a lot of lessons from a similar situation in the past when we are faced with a challenge in the present. The Ebola virus was conquered right on arrival in Nigeria, therefore, measures that were applied in 2014 during the outbreak of the Ebola virus can also be applied presently to battle the Coronavirus pandemic.

One major measure put in place during the Ebola outbreak was the swift detection of the Liberian man with the Ebola virus in Nigeria. The swift detection prevented the further spread of the virus, which therefore afforded the country victory over the virus. This same measure can be applied to the present Coronavirus pandemic in order to prevent the spread of the virus.

When the virus is swiftly detected, swift preparation is made for the isolation of the carriers of the virus so as to curb the spread of ghe virus. It is therefore important that testing kits are made available at each sector and industry of the country so as to swiftly detect the virus and prevent the further spread of the virus.
