After the unfair killing of George Floyd by three officers of the Minneapolis police which was captured on video and also went viral on social media platforms, the police officers involved were sacked and relieved of their duties. This was however not enough justice and various protests started across the United States of America, calling out for justice for George Floyd’s death.
This has however prompted the new move on the side of the prosecution to prosecute all officers involved in George Floyd’s murder. While Derek Chauvin face second-degree count of murder, the other 3 officers face counts of aiding and abetting murder. Floyd’s family lawyer, Benjamin Crump said, Floyd family lawyer Benjamin Crump said in a statement: “This is a significant step forward on the road to justice and we are gratified that this important action was brought before George Floyd’s body was laid to rest.”
