Recently, a live video of the South African police harassing former Big brother Africa housemate, Tayo Faniran, went viral. In the video, he was being manhandled and almost strangled by the men of the force.
Hours later, the former big brother housemate, who has now been released shared his peace of mind about the continent- Africa. Assuring well-meaning Nigerians about his safety, he also said;
“Africa is still enslaved, this a problem that affects every African.
My body is sore all throughout. The beating was too much, the hatred…handcuffs on someone who isn’t a criminal….Above all I’m not angry because two wrongs don’t make a right. I’m not interested in pressing charges. At this moment I just want to thank God for my life.
Every African should learn from this. Don’t sit and wait till it becomes your turn. This is not the Africa we should have. It’s not cool”.
