When Hello was released, it shattered the 24-hour VEVO record with almost 28 million views.

Now, it has been revealed that the video for Hello has hit 1 billion views in the fastest time period in the history of VEVO.

The record was originally held by Psy’s Gangnam Style, but now, Adele has broken it since it took just 88 days for Hello to surpass the milestone of 1 Billion views. As of writing this article, the video has 1,001,996,653 views.

Taking to Twitter last night, VEVO confirmed the news:

It’s a fantastic feat for Adele as the grip she has over the world does not seem to be letting up in the slightest. It is approaching two months since ‘25’ was released, and it has not slipped from the number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 200.

Adele has proudly sat at Number 1 on the Billboard Chart over in America with ‘25’ and it’s not looking like anyone will knock her off the top spot. Canadian pop star, Justin Bieber has come close but has so far remained in the Number 2 spot.

There are no big releases coming up over the next couple of weeks either, so Adele will no doubt extend her lead at the top of the chart. However, February does have some big-name releases coming up, including Kanye West, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, so whether Adele will slip in February is yet to be seen.
