Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has emerged as the Majority leader of Nigeria’s House of Representatives today. This comes after his failed bid to become Speaker and the emergence of Yakubu Dogara instead.
The All progressives Congress members looked set to split permanently along both factions but a compromise seems to have been reached. Today, the Speaker of the House of Representatives announced Gbajabiamila as Majority leader and also named other principal members of the House of Representatives.
Buba Jibrin has been named Deputy house leader, Alhassan Doguwa the Chief Whip and Pally Iriase Deputy Chief Whip. Chukwuma Onyema and Leo Ogor emerged as Minority house leader and deputy minority house leader respectively.
