Isaac Fayose, brother of Ayo Fayose, former Ekiti governor, has fired back at rapper Eedris Abdulkareem, accusing him of poverty after the singer took a swipe at him in his new song, ‘Maintain’.
In the track, Eedris mocks an unnamed individual whom he describes as a hypocrite for allegedly supporting Seyi Tinubu and President Bola Tinubu while criticising the rapper for his political stance.
“One Agbaya say I don join APC. Your new name na hypocrisy. You say I don f**k up, I don join them,” he raps in pidgin English.
“Meanwhile you dey chill with Seyi, you dey do faaji. Singing on your mandate for Seyi papa. You even turn yourself to emergency pastor. You dey pray for Seyi Tinubu and Jagaban.
“You say the Tinubu family na your family… say you be Yoruba man and you fit campaign for Tinubu because say Peter Obi never visit you.
“Now wey Peter Obi don visit wetin you go do?… You made your money when your senior brother dey inside government.”
Fayose subsequently responded to the rapper in an Instagram video, dismissing the criticism and claiming that the government had offered him money and a luxury vehicle to secure his support.
“I can’t be bought. The government dey offer me one million dollars; they offered me a G-Wagon. I am unbuyable. You enter studio because of me? You are mumu. Na you be jagajaga. Eedris JagaJaga,” he said.
The businessman also questioned the singer’s financial standing, making personal remarks about his wife and the kidney donation she reportedly made to him.
“Poverty don finish, Eedris—poverty and Eedris na the same o. I pity your wife wey donate her kidney to you because you are a wasted generation. You suppose don go to Baba God.”
