Jay-Z Set to Headline 2027 Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show

Jay-Z, the American rapper and music mogul, will perform at the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The rapper confirmed his appearance in a statement. He described the opportunity as a milestone in his 30-year music career.

“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” said Jay-Z. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”

Jay-Z celebrates 30 years in music

The announcement follows a year of celebrations under the banner “Jay-Z 30”.

He headlined the Roots Picnic in late May. In July, he staged three sold-out shows at Yankee Stadium to mark the anniversaries of his albums The Blueprint and Reasonable Doubt.

The rapper also performed in Paris and London. He later featured in the eight-part docuseries Jay-Z in 8, where he discussed his music catalogue with producer Rick Rubin.

Jay-Z wrapped up his latest run of tour dates at SoFi Stadium with two shows. The concerts featured guest appearances from Scarface, DJ Khaled, John Legend, Blue Ivy Carter, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg and Too Short.

NFL, Apple welcome Jay-Z’s appearance

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Jay-Z’s performance fulfils a long-standing wish following the league’s partnership with Roc Nation.

“For several years, we’ve had the privilege of working closely with Jay-Z and Roc Nation, and I’ve seen the extraordinary impact he has had on the Super Bowl Halftime Show,” Goodell said.

“When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had just one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him. I couldn’t be more excited for fans around the world to experience the artistry, creativity and cultural impact he will bring to the Super Bowl stage.”

Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice-president of Music and International Content, also praised the rapper’s influence.

“We know it’s going to be an incredible show,” Schusser said.

Roc Nation will executive produce the event, while Hamish Hamilton will direct it. ESPN, ABC and Disney+ will broadcast the show, with NFL+ providing mobile access.

Jay-Z follows Bad Bunny

Jay-Z’s performance follows Bad Bunny’s headline appearance at the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show. The Puerto Rican star’s show averaged 128.2 million viewers and later won seven Emmy Awards.
