Nigerian comedian and actor Broda Shaggi has revealed that a stray bullet hit him while he was returning from a shoot, explaining his months-long absence from social media.
The entertainer, whose real name is Samuel Animashaun Perry, shared the experience in a new mini-documentary. He recounts the incident, his hospital treatment and his journey to recovery.
Shaggi said he and his team had finished shooting when they got stuck in traffic. He suddenly heard a loud bang and realised he had sustained an injury.
“We were done shooting and were on our way when we got stuck in a holdup. Suddenly, I heard a loud bang and everywhere went silent. I could see people talking, but I couldn’t hear anything. Then I touched my hip and saw blood. That was when it dawned on me that I had been hit by a stray bullet.”
The incident forced the comedian to seek emergency medical care. He underwent extensive treatment and began physical rehabilitation to regain his mobility.
In the documentary, Shaggi opens up about the physical and emotional toll of the experience. He also reflects on the fear of losing his ability to move freely and continue his entertainment career.
The comedian is known for his energetic skits, music and acting. However, his prolonged absence from social media left fans wondering why he had stepped away from the spotlight.
The documentary also captures his gradual recovery. It shows him progressing from immobility to using crutches before regaining his strength.
Shaggi has now returned to the camera after months away. His documentary offers fans a glimpse into the ordeal behind his absence and the difficult journey that followed the injury.
