Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has criticised her colleague Eniola Badmus over her reaction to the mention of her name during an interview, warning that she “would no longer let it slide”.
The controversy followed an appearance by Badmus on ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’, hosted by Isbae U. In a video circulating online, the host mentioned Bakare as one of his favourite actresses, prompting Badmus to shrug and change her facial expression.
Reacting to the clip, Bakare took to her Instagram page to describe Badmus as a “nuisance” and accuse her of repeatedly attempting to damage her reputation publicly.
The actress alleged that Badmus had resolved to bring her down at all costs, adding that she had warned her severally to stop the alleged behaviour.
“Nuisance ni lady yi sha! Must you always damage my character publicly? Several times I have warned you to stop, but since you have decided to bring me down at all costs, you will surely hear from me,” she wrote.
Bakare accuses Badmus of ingratitude
Bakare also accused her colleague of ingratitude, claiming that she had played a significant role in helping Badmus grow in life.
She questioned Badmus’ facial expression when the host mentioned her name, describing the reaction as disrespectful to someone she considered a benefactor.
“See your facial expressions at the mention of your biggest benefactor’s name? Omo ale. That helped you to grow in life. Honestly, you are indeed an ingrate, and I won’t let this slide,” she said.
The actress further maintained that she would not allow another person’s perceived insecurity to distract her from her personal journey and achievements.
“I will never allow someone else’s insecurity to become my distraction. I know my journey, I know my worth, and I know how much it has taken me to get here,” she added.
