Tiwa Savage accepts Teni’s N3bn boxing challenge

Tiwa Savage, the Afrobeats star, has accepted colleague Teni’s challenge to a boxing bout after the singer proposed a fight worth N3 billion.

Teni, whose real name is Teniola Apata, issued the challenge on Instagram days after reality TV star Phyna knocked out actress Nkechi Blessing in a celebrity boxing bout in Lagos.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, Teni called on Tiwa to face her in the ring while joking about the potential prize money.

“MAMA!!! Make we fight @tiwasavage 3billion later I go apologise for outside the boxing ring,” she captioned the clip.

“Let’s fight, Tiwa Savage and me. Mummy, I will beat you till you enter bush. Me that is angry, I wouldn’t even look at Jamal’s face,” she said in the footage.

“I will cut my eyes. One, one billion. How much them dey buy all these cars? If they pay us N1.5 billion, can I buy a Bugatti? Make we first start from there. Mama, make we fight. Tiwa, I beat you, then sing ‘My Darling’ for you.”

Tiwa responded to the challenge in the comments section with three words: “Pick a date”.

Her response suggests she is willing to take on Teni in the ring, although no promoter, contract or date has been announced for the proposed bout.

The exchange comes amid growing attention around celebrity boxing in Nigeria.

Phyna recently defeated Nkechi in a celebrity boxing bout in Lagos, following an online clash between the two personalities.

Before the fight, Nkechi had criticised Phyna for “frequently engaging in online confrontations,” alleging that she “fights with everybody”.

The celebrity boxing series also featured a bout between skit maker Carter Efe and rapper Speed Darlington, with Efe winning by technical knockout.

Efe had earlier defeated controversial singer Portable by unanimous decision on May 1, 2026. Portable, in turn, knocked out Speed Darlington following an intense first-round exchange in 2025.
