Peter Fatomilola, veteran Nollywood actor, has praised skit maker and actor Mr Macaroni for his generosity, recalling how he once received N1 million for featuring in a single movie scene.

Fatomilola shared the experience in a recent interview on African A-list. He recalled meeting Mr Macaroni at a movie set in Fiditi, Oyo State.

The veteran actor said the producer paid him N50,000 for the job. He said Mr Macaroni later gave him more than N200,000 after filming ended.

Fatomilola recalls first encounter with Mr Macaroni

“Help me greet Mr Macaroni. Since I have been working, I had not worked with him. I remember in Oyo at a Fiditi location. I finished, and then he asked me if I was done, and I was like yes and that I was leaving because it was just two scenes. He then escorted me to my car and was like, ‘let me give you money for fuel’,” he said.

“The money was not less than N200,000; the person I came to work for paid me N50,000. And it was not once or twice; I cannot even count it. He then contacted me and told me that he was expecting me at Lekki the next day for a job. Then I went to the hotel and was waiting for them to give me my role.”

Fatomilola said Mr Macaroni later invited him to a job in Lekki. He said he featured alongside veteran actor Pete Edochie.

“I did not know that I was just there to do one scene. It was Pete Edochie and I that wanted to do the scene together. When we were done, he said he was satisfied with what I did. He then called my son, who accompanied me, and gave him N100,000, and he also gave my grandchild N50,000.

“That was when I became suspicious that I would also be given money because we did not negotiate. We had not even left Lekki when I asked my child how much he sent to me; he sent me N1 million.”

Mr Macaroni reflects on acts of kindness

Fatomilola’s account came after Mr Macaroni reflected on messages from people who recalled how he had helped them.

“I cried so much last night and this morning. I have seen lots of messages from different people about things I did for them at different times, most of which I don’t even remember,” he wrote via X.

Mr Macaroni said he believes God gave him resources so he could help others.

“The truth is I have always believed in my heart that the only reason God has given to me is to give it back. I think this is God’s way of telling me to also be thankful! I have been thinking too much about what I lost instead of thanking God for seeing me through one of the hardest moments of my life,” he said.

The comedian also said he struggled to ask others for help despite often helping people around him.

“I am used to always giving and hardly ever receiving because everyone thought I had in abundance. I have also always found it difficult to ask for help. Even if I had to borrow from anyone, I would always return with interest, even without them asking. But I was tested in ways I couldn’t understand these past few years. I asked for help everywhere and anywhere I could think of, and I was on the verge of giving it all up!” he wrote.
