Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat will headline ‘PodFest Naija 2026’, addressing young creators, podcasters and storytellers in Lagos. The festival will hold on September 25, 2026, at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, bringing together Nigeria’s growing storytelling community.

As an engineer with technology and business experience, Hamzat will discuss creativity, technology, culture and Lagos’ future. His participation highlights Lagos State’s connection with creators shaping the city’s expanding creative economy and cultural influence.

Leading Creators Join Festival

Hamzat will join an impressive lineup featuring Funke Akindele, Aproko Doctor, Rufai Oseni and Rolake Akinkugbe-Filani among others. Other notable participants include Babajide Ogunsanwo, Duke of Shomolu, Audu Maikori, Tosin Olaseinde and investigative journalist Fisayo Soyombo.

Grace Ofure, Masoyinbo, Salem King, Dr. Foy, Toolz and William Benson will also participate in the festival. Created as a convergence point, PodFest Naija celebrates creativity while encouraging collaboration, innovation, learning and talent discovery.

After successful debut, ‘PodFest Naija 2026’ returns with live podcasts, masterclasses, talent discovery and an experiential arena.

Government Supports Creative Economy

Tosin Adefeko, Curator of PodFest Naija and CEO of AT3 Resources, described Hamzat’s participation as significant. He said Lagos creates culture that Nigeria and Africa export globally through music, film, fashion, comedy, art and storytelling.

Adefeko said, Hamzat’s address demonstrates growing recognition of creators as contributors to sustainable economic development.
