Simisola Dapson’s family story began with her father leaving banking after receiving a calling to become a pastor. “My dad quit his job as a branch manager after receiving a calling to become a pastor,” Simisola said. She explained that the decision changed the family’s lifestyle and introduced them to a different financial reality.
According to Simisola, the family moved from GRA to Ikorodu after her father left his banking position. Her mother worked as a farmer, while the family adjusted to managing their available resources. “There was no more big salary,” she recalled, highlighting the impact of her father’s career change.
The decision represented a major shift from their previous lifestyle and financial comfort. Meanwhile, Femi Dapson has previously shared details about the struggles that shaped his childhood. The filmmaker recalled growing up in difficult circumstances before pursuing different jobs to improve his future.
Later, he worked at Winners Chapel, where he enjoyed a comfortable position and worked closely with Pastor David Oyedepo. However, Dapson eventually left the church position because he feared becoming too comfortable.
After relocating to Lagos, he started working as a cleaner while searching for new opportunities. His breakthrough came after he secured a junior editing opportunity despite competing with university graduates. That experience eventually opened the door to his successful career in filmmaking and music production.
