Next James Bond Has Reportedly Been Chosen as Gary Oldman Reveals Casting Update

The next James Bond may already have a new actor, according to Oscar-winning actor Gary Oldman’s comments. Oldman claimed the studio has selected Daniel Craig’s successor, although Amazon MGM Studios has not officially announced the actor.

He made the revelation while discussing his ‘Slow Horses’ co-star Jack Lowden, who continues to attract attention for the coveted role. “I think they’ve picked him,” Oldman said, adding that fans would discover the identity soon.

He also admitted he hopes Lowden gets the role, describing his co-star as a strong choice. Lowden has emerged as one of several names connected with the next James Bond role.

Other reported contenders include Harris Dickinson, Callum Turner, Jacob Elordi, Tom Francis, and Jack Barton. However, Amazon MGM Studios has not confirmed Lowden or any other actor as the new 007.

The studio previously said auditions had begun and promised updates when appropriate. Meanwhile, the next James Bond film already has a major creative team.

Denis Villeneuve will direct, while Steven Knight is writing the screenplay. Amy Pascal and David Heyman will produce the upcoming movie, marking a new era for the long-running spy franchise.

Villeneuve previously described Bond as sacred territory and promised to respect the character’s tradition. Production could begin after the studio completes its casting process.
