DC Studios confirmed the Supergirl HBO Max release date as September 10, giving fans a chance to watch Kara Zor-El. The film will stream exclusively on HBO Max from Thursday, September 10, 2026, according to the announcement.
Milly Alcock leads the cast as Kara Zor-El, bringing the DC heroine into the new DC Universe. Craig Gillespie directed the superhero adventure from a screenplay written by Ana Nogueira for DC Studios.
The story follows Kara as she travels across the galaxy while confronting grief, revenge, responsibility, and challenges. Jason Momoa joins the cast as Lobo, an alien bounty hunter who becomes involved in Kara’s dangerous mission.
David Corenswet appears as Superman, reprising his role while supporting Kara during her extraordinary journey. Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham also feature throughout the film.
The movie draws inspiration from Tom King’s acclaimed comic series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, giving Kara a distinct adventure. Unlike Superman’s traditional heroism, Kara approaches justice differently, combining vulnerability with a tougher, unpredictable personality.
Fans who missed the theatrical run can now watch Supergirl from home through their HBO Max subscription. The streaming arrival comes shortly after the movie’s theatrical release, expanding its audience beyond cinemas.
An American Sign Language version will also stream on HBO Max, providing a viewing option for audiences. Supergirl will later receive its HBO linear television premiere on September 12 at 8:00 PM ET.
