Lionel Richie is back home and “doing great” after a health scare forced him to seek hospital treatment following his concert in St. Louis, Missouri.
The 77-year-old singer checked into a St. Louis hospital over the weekend as a “cautious act”. He had struggled to finish his concert at the city’s Muny Amphitheatre on Saturday.
Richie is currently on his ‘Sing a Song All Night Long’ tour. Doctors admitted him to the intensive care unit (ICU) for cardiac tests.
The tests came as doctors investigated possible slight dehydration.
During the concert, Richie asked his team to bring him a chair. He requested it while performing his final song, ‘All Night Long’.
According to People, Richie has now returned to his home in Los Angeles. The singer is reportedly “doing great” after the hospital scare.
The incident marks another health scare for Richie during his current tour.
In June, the singer fell ill during a concert in St. Paul, Minnesota. He cut the performance short after feeling dizzy.
Richie told the crowd, “when you’re feeling dizzy, sit your ass down”.
He later postponed two shows on his doctor’s advice. The singer returned to the stage on June 30.
Richie is scheduled to perform next in San Francisco on September 26.
