Lionel Richie hospitalized news has raised concerns after the legendary singer checked into a St. Louis hospital following Saturday’s concert. Richie performed at The Muny in Forest Park on August 29 during his ongoing tour with Earth, Wind & Fire.
During the concert’s final song, “All Night Long,” the 77-year-old singer asked his team to bring him a chair. Witnesses said Richie appeared to struggle slightly toward the performance’s conclusion, although he successfully completed the concert without collapsing. After leaving the venue, Richie checked himself into a local hospital for medical tests as a precaution following possible dehydration concerns.
Doctors are reportedly evaluating Richie for slight dehydration, while sources close to his tour describe his condition as stable.
The hospitalization comes only months after Richie experienced another health scare during a June performance in Minnesota. Richie felt dizzy during that concert, prompting him to stop the performance early and postpone subsequent shows temporarily.
Despite the latest concern, a source close to Richie’s tour told Rolling Stone that the singer remains okay. Fans have since expressed concern online, sending messages of support while hoping the celebrated performer makes a full recovery.
Richie’s representatives have not publicly disclosed detailed medical information regarding his condition or confirmed whether upcoming performances will change. The singer currently has another scheduled concert in San Francisco on September 26, according to reports about his tour.
