Ayra Starr’s third studio album, ‘Starrgirl’, has debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard World Albums chart, marking another international milestone for the Nigerian singer.
The 16-track project earned the fourth position on the latest chart, placing ahead of Tyla’s ‘APop*’, which sits at No. 5.
‘Starrgirl’ trails Stray Kids’ ‘This & That’, Cortis’ ‘GreenGreen’ and Ateez’s ‘Golden Hour: Part 5’, which occupy the top three positions respectively.
Ayra Starr, whose real name is Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, released the album on August 14 through Mavin Records and Republic Records.
The project features a mix of Nigerian and international stars, including Wizkid, Rema, ZAYN, Leon Thomas, kwn, Theodora and Danny Ocean. Its release follows the singles ‘Where Do We Go’ and ‘Who’s Dat Girl’.
The singer previously revealed that ‘Who’s Dat Girl’ was inspired by a past unhealthy relationship, adding a personal dimension to the project.
Reflecting on the creative process behind the album, Ayra Starr expressed pride in the person she became while making the project.
“I’m so proud of the woman I’ve allowed myself to become through the making of this album and every version of me that had to exist to get here,” she wrote.
The Billboard debut adds to Ayra Starr’s growing international profile since she rose to prominence with her 2021 hit single ‘Bloody Samaritan’.
She has since established herself as one of Nigeria’s prominent global music acts, earning several awards and nominations.
Her previous projects include her debut album, ‘19 & Dangerous’, released in 2021, and ‘The Year I Turned 21’, which followed in 2024.
