BBNaija star Segun Olusemo, popularly known as Sheggz, has broken his silence on his split from Bella Okagbue, denying claims that he was abusive or unfaithful during their nearly four-year relationship.
The reality television personality addressed the controversy in a lengthy post on X, saying he had remained silent out of respect for his family and because of the personal nature of the matter.
However, he said he felt compelled to respond after years of building his public image and facing insinuations about the circumstances surrounding the breakup.
“I am not an abuser. For clarity, I did not cheat on Bella, and I have been single since January 2026,” he wrote.
Sheggz said 2025 was a particularly difficult year for him, during which he had several hospital stays. He said he eventually travelled to England for treatment and recovery before returning to Nigeria in October.
According to him, he discovered information after his return that made him question the honesty of his relationship with Bella.
He said he had given several opportunities for the truth to emerge since 2024, but none resolved his concerns.
Sheggz and Bella met during the Big Brother Naija Level Up season in 2022 and went on to become one of the show’s most prominent couples. Their relationship officially ended in January 2026 after almost four years together.
The former couple also attempted to reconcile, but Sheggz said issues surrounding trust and respect remained.
“I genuinely wanted the relationship to work. I even went as far as purchasing a ring because I believed in the possibility of a future together. Unfortunately, sometimes two people can care deeply for one another and still come to the realisation that the relationship is no longer right for them,” he added.
