LAGOS, NIGERIA: Detty December Fest returns to Lagos from 18-30 December 2026. Wizkid will headline the Grand Opening Concert on Friday, 18 December, during Day 1 of 13. The concert will take place on the Detty Festival Stage, as the festival unveils an expanded two-stage experience.
The announcement follows a landmark inaugural edition that attracted more than 40,000 festivalgoers across its run. The event brought global and African music stars to Ilubirin, including Busta Rhymes, Gunna, Tiwa Savage, and Shenseea. Juma Jux, Diamond Platnumz, Wande Coal, Phyno, Fave, Young Jonn, Qing Madi, and Ice Prince also performed.
In its first year, Detty December Fest became a defining moment in Lagos’ festive calendar. It also emerged as a new destination for Africa’s live entertainment experiences. Wizkid’s music has taken Afrobeats to audiences around the world.Opening Detty December Fest brings him back to the city that shaped his sound.
His appearance also arrives as Lagos becomes one of the world’s defining cultural destinations each December. The festival’s first confirmed headliner signals this year’s scale, with additional artists coming in the months ahead.
Detty December, widely known as “Africa’s Real Summer”, has become a major cultural and economic moment. According to The Economics of Euphoria: Lagos’ Detty December 2025, consumer spending reached an estimated ₦396.5 billion.The MO Africa Company report covered the 2025 season across Lagos.
Millions of visitors also arrived from across Nigeria and the diaspora. The scale prompted the Federal Government to establish a Presidential Task Force. The task force coordinates aviation, tourism, security, and power throughout the festive period.

Detty Pulse StageThe festival’s daily heartbeat will deliver nightlife, culture nights, and seasonal programming across all thirteen days. It will also provide a dedicated platform for the next generation of African talent. Emerging artists will perform on the same site as some of the biggest names in music.

Across thirteen days, festivalgoers can expect headline concerts, aerial shows, and emerging talent showcases. Immersive brand experiences, food activations, lifestyle activations, and DJ-led nights will add further variety.
Nightlife programming and family-friendly attractions will also feature throughout the festival. These attractions include a Christmas Grotto, Gen Z Republik, and pop-up market stalls. Curated experiences will celebrate Lagos’ creativity, energy, and global appeal during its most anticipated season.
